Hunger is a physiological response of our body activities when they are in need of energy. Our body get energy from food for these activities. When we are hungry we feel nausea, headache, and a growling stomach. Some people become irritable and anxious. Our stress hormones glucagon, cortisol, adrenaline, and neuropeptidesY are released.  Neuropeptide control hunger and also responsible for controlling anger.
When we are hungry our blood glucose or sugar level drops.  Glucagon produced when sugar level reaches up to 65mg/dl . Glucagon is the main hormone to start gluconeogenesis and raise the glucose level. Due to low blood sugar level up to 55mg/dl cortisol level rises and hypoglycemic signs like irritability, headache, anxiety, palpitation and faintness appear.
You do not know about your hunger but other people notice a change in your mood. Hangry feeling sends us a signal to eat food. It's harder for our brain to control anger and irritability when brain glucose level decline. Not everyone feels it but some people are more susceptible than others.
