-In the middle age 20-50 years, the most common cause is the disc herniation and trauma.
-In the later age after 50-year  disc prolapsed is a cause but another factor like degenerative changes in disc and vertebra.
-Osteoporosis and some neoplasm are  also cause.
Disc herniation can be due to sudden forward bending and lifting of heavy weight in the improper way.
A low backache more common in obese and inactive people.

A person complaining of pain at lower back.

Management-
In the acute case,    bed rest should be limited.Analgesics and muscle relaxants are necessary.
Strengthening exercises under supervision in chronic cases.
Reassurance and rehabilitation.
In chronic cases, analgesics,muscle relaxants and neuropathic drugs are given.
Sometimes if conservative treatment fails then surgery is the choice.
